Experience

Software Engineer

JP Morgan Chase

While working here, I focused on Back End development for Adobe Experience Manager utilizing Java, OSGi, Apache, JavaScript, and HTML. I developed automatic reporting tools for regulatory compliance and auditing purposes, and spearheaded the development on a new custom analytics engine for targeted traffic reporting on a component specific level. I also utilized Jenkins to provide a continuous integration service in order to automate the entire process of loading the latest build code and test files, and running the tests.

Software Engineer Intern

JP Morgan Chase

During my software engineering internship at JP Morgan Chase, I built a MVP product with a group of interns using React and Flask which were connected using a RESTful API. In this role, I was the lead backend engineer in my intern group cohort, where I taught my fellow interns how to build a Json API endpoint using flask. I also taught them how to use tools like Postman to view the request payload and response.

Software Engineer Intern

ENGIE North America Headquarters

During my software engineering internship at ENGIE, I focused my time on helping the digital division through creating code that could be utilized for their API's, as well as their databases, and their reporting software with the correct integration with the servers. The data automation which we worked on would allow for the creation of daily reports, as well as monthly in depth reviews of the different power plants.

Skills

Programming Languages & Tools
Competencies
  • Java
I have utilized java in a professional setting as an AEM developer, as well as in school for a variety of projects. My professional roles require me to use Java with a CI/CD pipeline utilizing industry best practices such as testing, understandable design, and dependency injection.
  • Python
I started using Python during my first year of engineering classes, but it was quickly replaced by C++. I however, got back to using it during my internship, and quickly learned specific libraries, such as Pandas, which is used for data analysis and data science. I also got more familiar with Python in relation with the Django framework, which is utilized to create robust web applications.
  • C++
I have been using C++ for over a year and a half, and have utilized it in both school projects, as well as personal projects that I created myself too. This is one of the languages I am most comfortable with.
  • HTML
HTML was first used by me in my first website that I built during spring break of my sophomore year in college. I first learned using an app on my phone, but I learned a lot more once I got into building websites, and currently as I work on a web application.
  • CSS
Like HTML, I learned CSS during my spring break vacation in my sophomore year of college. Learning this would really complement what I knew about HTML as it would allow me to build much prettier and responsive websites.
  • SQL
One of the many skills that I learned during my internship at ENGIE, was that of SQL. I was able to use this skill to communicate with company servers and add, delete, and create to that which was stored in the database.

Projects

Django Web App

Using online tutorials and many other online sources, I was able to learn how to use the Django framework to create a blog-style web app. My plans are to expand the utility and create something a lot more useful by integrating companies and paid communication.

This Website

I have always liked creating websites, especially because when you create front-end code, you can very quickly see it in action and can see what you have accomplished. The goal of this website was to portray what I have done in the form of a website, as well as my resume and projects.

Indie Game

I have always enjoyed video games, but one day I decided that I would start development of my own game. I used the Game Make Studio program and I created a lot of simple and more complex games using that engine. I want to peruse this hobby even further when the time allows me, and even publish my game.

December 2018

Marble Sorter

This project was part of my general engineering curriculum, in which we had to read a barcode and with the information we received sort a pile of marbles and dispense the correct amount. My role in this project was software, with my main function being to prototype and test out new ways to increase the efficiency of what we were already doing.

Interests

When I am not coding...

When I am not working or at school, I like to spend time with my family and travel wherever I can. My favorite spot thus far has to be the beaches of Portugal.

When forced indoors, I follow a number of sci-fi and fantasy genre movies and television shows, I am an aspiring chef, and I spend a large amount of my free time exploring the latest and greatest cars that have been released by my favorite automaker, particularly what they improve with the overall technology.
